Established 1950's. We are a club run by its members to hold Ballroom, Latin & Sequence Tea Dances every Wednesday & Friday afternoon in Bletchley, with Seasonal Evening Dinner Dances which are sell out events. The club was founded in the 1950's, when it was an amalgamation of clubs based in the local Villages surrounding Bletchley, all of whom organised and ran a variety of different social events on a weekly basis for its members aimed at Retirement age and beyond. Bletchley was known as the parent club, it prided itself for the Social Ballroom & Sequence Dances it held which was hugely popular and very well supported. We are privileged to have amongst our members today, a small group who were the early pioneer's of the club, one Lady now in her mid nineties, remembers with fondness the bustling crowded dance floors throughout the decades. With the introduction and expansion of Milton Keynes during the seventies many Villages got swallowed up and became part of the New City with a loss to the retirement club of its additional and traditional activities and venues. however the Bletchley fraternity with its Stalwart Committee was able to carry on and continue to this day. The Club is still run by a Committee, who have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience, gained from the world of dancing , at a professional level their combined goal is to promote and encourage Ballroom Latin & Sequence Dancing in and around Bletchley and its surrounding areas including Milton Keynes and the Three Counties. Formerly known as The Retirement Club, in 2016 it took on a more modern approach to encourage New Members to join changing its name to become Milton Keynes Social Dance Club which is who we are today.
